So far in the timeline of the Gospels, Jesus has been confronted several times by the Jewish leaders who questioned His or His disciples’ observance of their traditions. He had to correct their misunderstandings which added too much to the simplicity of God’s commands! Yet now we see Jesus addressing the opposite problem – where tradition didn’t go far enough beyond the letter of the law, to the spirit which God intended. In this message, Hal looks at Jesus’ examples and explanations to help us find a deeper vision — and a deeper faith — than a checklist morality can give.
